How to create North Pole layouts

You can now create North Pole maps in the Kitchen Designer editor by choosing the North Pole setting.

Note that North Pole maps are harder to create as there is special logic in place that tries to add Elf Houses and conveyors. If the layout does not have a particular shape, you will not be able to use it in the game.

  1. You need a room (garden) on the left side of the layout. It should be at least 3 tiles wide.
  2. You need a room (garden) on the left side (must be a different room). It should be at least 3 tiles wide.
  3. The left and right rooms must have different ids! If they have the same id, you will occasionally see a line of conveyors going through your restaurant from the left garden to the right garden.
  4. The left garden should be connected to both the kitchen and the dining room.
  5. There should be hatches between the gardens and both the kitchen and the dining room.

A very basic design may look like this. Note that the gardens on the left and right have different ids.

Once you get a simple North Pole layout working, you can start experimenting. For example, I think that the left and right rooms do not have to be gardens.
